CAMP DETAILS

Lacrosse

Our lacrosse curriculum will improve stick skills and team concepts with a creative drills including small games, stations, obstacle courses, and competitions.

 

Skill Clinics

In addition to the leadership development sessions, players will work through a number of Skill Clinics. These Skill Clinics are designed for players based on their position:

  • Shooting
  • Defense (Team and Individual)
  • Fast Breaks
  • Dodging
  • Defensive skill development
  • Advanced offensive concepts
  • Clears

Leadership

The leadership curriculum is taught by Heidi Kasevich, PhD. She is a well-known speaker, consultant, and author in the field of female leadership.

Her workshops cultivate the traits of ambition, resilience, and courage, and teaches girls the skills needed to be self-aware, confident individuals who know their value and are prepared to lead through authenticity.

Outdoor Adventure

  • Three ponds and extensive hiking trails on an 827-acre wooded campus
  • Lake Wononscopomuc offers endless waterfront activities and beach. Our staff supervises all of our campers who want to take out paddleboards. Lifeguards are on duty at the beach.
  • Yoga
  • Climbing Wall
  • Social Sports: Frisbee Golf, Kickball, Beach Volleyball, Spike Ball
  • Camp Olympics & Group Competitions

Multi- Sport Option Field Hockey:

If you play both lacrosse & field hockey, you can opt to alternate sports each day. Both programs operate side by side during sport specific training times and merge for age appropriate leadership workshops and recreational rotations.

At Lacrosse and Leadership Camp campers will receive:

Any camper who must cancel prior to camp will receive a camp credit equal to the amount of camp tuition already paid.  The credit is transferable to another family member and is good for any GameBreaker Lacrosse Summer Camp or eCamps Partner program through next summer (agreement begins at time of purchase).  Any cancellation within 5 days of the start of camp will result in a camp credit minus $100 cancellation fee.  Camp credits are not extended to campers who leave camp after the start of a session.  CASH/CREDIT CARD REFUNDS ARE NOT OFFERED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Lacrosse

With three daily lacrosse sessions, players can expect to improve their individual skills at our skill clinics. Players will also enjoy competing against other camp teams at evening scrimmages.

Leadership

The leadership curriculum is taught both on and off the field.. In these sessions campers will hear stories anecdotes and lessons about the importance of leadership within teams and organizations. They will hear examples of great leaders, and what qualities or actions that helped define them as leaders. From these stories campers will learn how to define leadership for themselves, and how to inspire and lead your teammates.

Athletic Facilities

The Academy’s athletic facilities offer the optimal training environment for field hockey players. Campers are going to look forward to each training session.

2 Field Hockey fields – Downing Field is a synthetic turf field & the Class of ’49 Field is well-manicured grass field, both with field hockey lines and goals +  One field is lit for night games!

  • Mars Athletic Center (Fitness Center, Squash Courts, Tennis Courts, Indoor Turf, Yoga Studio)

Lake Wonoscopomuc

Lake Wononscopomuc, the deepest fresh water lake in Connecticut offering endless the waterfront activities and will summer fun including recreational swimming, paddle boarding and bonfires. Our staff supervises all of our campers who want to take out a paddle board. Lifeguards are on duty at the beach.

Dorms

Campers will stay in dorms. A typical room houses 1 – 2 campers. We will divide up the campers into pods of 10 – 15 and assign 1 – 2 counselors for every pod. All campers will stay in the same dormitory and use building amenities including bathrooms (sinks, toilets and showers), common room equipped with a T.V. & DVD player, vending machines & microwave.  The dorms are not-air conditioned.

Counselors provide on-going supervision, promote friendship and camaraderie between campers.

Facility

The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT is the perfect site for this camp. Overlooking Lake Wononscopomuc, the school offers numerous turf fields as well as a state-of-the-art athletic center. Lakefront activities will include endless summer fun – recreational swimming, paddleboarding and bonfires. Wellness hikes to Beeslick Brook Woods & Waterfalls will give players a chance to clear their heads and enjoy nature. Campers will share nutritious farm-to-table meals in the dinning halls, attend leadership workshops in the fully-equipped media classrooms & sleep in the comfortable dormitories.

Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs, CO is a great site for this west coast Lacrosse & Leadership camp. This beautiful campus is located in the Roaring Fork River Valley. The campus boast 5 grass fields, a ropes course and plenty of room for lacrosse and leadership activities. Campers will enjoy staying in the college dorms and eating in the all-you-can-eat dining hall.
